Smithing is a good skill to know.  Smithing is used to make armor and weapons and a few other things too.  Smithing is basically working with metal. In order to start smithing, you need to mine.  After your done doing that you end up with ore.  To turn the ore into usable metal bars you must go to a furnace.  Once you get there, use ore with furnace to make a metal bar. Here are the different combinations of ore: Ores: Result: Level Needed: XP: 1 Copper 1 Tin 1 Bronze Bar  1 6.25 1 Iron 1 Iron Bar*  15 12.5 1 Silver 1 Silver Bar  20 13.5 1 Iron 2 Coal 1 Steel Bar  30 17.5 1 Gold 1 Gold Bar   40 22.5 1 Mithril 4 Coal 1 Mithril Bar   50 30 1 Adamtite 6 Coal 1 Adamantite Bar   70 37.5 1 Runite 8 Coal 1 Runite Bar   85 50 *Iron has a 50% chance of failing One you have the bars you can begin making armor and weapons.  Go to an anvil and use the bar on the anvil.
